The Shape

The Midas Star is NOT like the normal picture of star that you commonly see, which makes understanding Midas Star very important. Midas star is intentionally drawn differently from a conventional geometric star, which is central to its meaning and use.
Key reasons why it is not drawn like a traditional star:
- It is an energetic glyph, not a decorative symbol
- In Reiki (especially in advanced or esoteric systems), symbols are energy keys rather than artistic shapes.
- The Midas Star is drawn to direct, anchor, and circulate energy in specific pathways.
- A traditional star (such as a pentagram or hexagram) is visually balanced but energetically static.
- The Midas Star, by contrast, is dynamic—its lines indicate movement, flow, and activation.
Midas Star: Explained
The lines represent energy pathways, not points
A conventional star focuses on points (tips). The Midas Star emphasizes intersecting pathways, showing:
It symbolizes expansion from the centre and Circulation through multiple dimensions that confirms to the continuous flow rather than fixed direction. This makes it especially suited for manifestation, abundance consciousness, and higher alignment, which is why it is often associated with prosperity energy (not merely money, but flow).
How is Midas Star Different?
While Traditional stars (pentagrams, hexagrams) are strongly associated with Religious symbolism, Occult traditions and Planetary or elemental systems, the Midas Star is deliberately neutral, so it can be used across Reiki lineages without invoking belief systems that may conflict with a practitioner’s path.
It avoids religious or occult symbolism, and encodes infinity and non-linear time. This neutrality makes it appropriate for free attunements, distance work, and group sessions.
The way the Midas Star is drawn reflects:
- Non-linear flow
- Infinite circulation
- Simultaneous receiving and giving
- This aligns with Reiki’s understanding that energy is not constrained by time or space.
- A traditional star is symmetrical but closed; the Midas Star is open and self-renewing.
It is meant to be drawn in motion
Reiki symbols are activated through drawing, intention, and breath.
The Midas Star’s shape supports a continuous drawing motion, which helps the practitioner stay in a meditative, receptive state.
A conventional star often requires stopping and restarting lines—breaking energetic continuity.
Transmission over replication
- The Midas Star was designed to be transmitted energetically, not copied precisely like sacred geometry.
- Its power lies less in exact symmetry and more in:
- Intention
- Activation
- Lineage transmission
- This is why small stylistic variations do not reduce its effectiveness.
The essence of Midas Star is that it is: Energetically functional , Movement-based Non-dogmatic and Designed for activation, not symbolism
Midas star Color: Golden or Green ?
Gold is commonly chosen not because it represents money, but because it symbolises:
- Balance and clarity
- Self-worth and inner value
- Solar energy and empowerment
- Refined, neutral expression of Reiki
Golden light works harmoniously with all chakras and all Reiki lineages. It is safe, gentle, and especially suitable for group and distance attunements.
If, in your personal practice later, you choose to visualize the Midas Star in green, you may do so for healing, heart balance, or restoration. Green shifts the energy toward healing rather than activation.
You may also see a red horizontal line below the Midas Star. This red line is not an essential part of the symbol. When used, it serves as a grounding or anchoring element—bringing energy into the physical plane.
Red is a strong, dense colour connected with the root chakra, survival, and manifestation. You may use it only in individual work. It is not appropriate for a general or free group attunement, as the participants’ sensitivities are unknown.
