Reiki Attunements are an important part of learning and practicing Reiki Healing and Meditation.
These are the powerful initiation processes done separately for each level of Reiki by the Reiki Master.
It involves opening up the energy channels for free flow of the Chi or the Universal Energy. This helps in directing this Life force towards the attainment of the desired results.
There is a school of thought that feels that attunements are not required because after all, no one attuned Dr. Mikao Usui. While this might be true, Dr. Mikao Usui got the enlightenment and knowledge of Reiki after a great deal of spiritual journey and meditation.
We, in the modern world, do not have the motivation, time and inclination for such long self-discovery. Hence it is always recommended that the attunements are taken. They involve stimulating our energetic bodies, placing the divine symbols in the chakras, which in turn make it possible to direct the universal force towards promoting personal growth and health.
What else does Reiki Attunements process involve?
The Japanese call it “Reiju”, or the spiritual energy blessing. Receiving Reiki attunement is akin to inviting spiritual blessings and knowledge handed down from one master to the next. It helps in opening up of the intuitive path towards the practice of Reiki Meditation.
While the attunement procedure is no secret these days, thanks to commercialization by certain self-seeking individuals, merely knowing the steps in the procedure is on no use. It is the ritual of passing on unseen and unknown information by energy transference from an enlightened Reiki Master that makes it very sacred.
What do we experience while receiving Reiki Attunements?
The experience during the attunement varies from person to person. This is because we all have different energy fields and therefore respond differently to the extraneous influences of another source of energy.
Some of us may feel the flow of energy all around, while some may have visions, hear bells, see colors, feel the sensation of heat, tingling in the body, etc.
